Firing the Food Police: Creating a Happy and Balanced Relationship with Food

Summary:
Is food your fr’enemy? Are you tired of answering to “the food police”? Do you want to develop a more healthful and less conflicted relationship with food and your body? Join us as we learn the basic principles of Mindful Eating; a stress relieving, scientifically researched method which helps you learn to read and understand your internal hunger cues instead of relying on diets and ever-changing dietary advice. Mindful eating is the opposite of a restrictive, prescribed diet. Instead, it is a respectful, caring way to approach food and your body, which leads to feelings of well being and freedom. Program is presented by Nicole Christina, LCSW. Nicole has been a psychotherapist for more than 20 years, specializing in mindful eating and stress reduction. Her passion is helping people become more comfortable and peaceful with food, and more accepting and kind towards their bodies. She teaches an ongoing Mindful Eating series at Syracuse University, and has presented at Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Crouse Hospital. She also writes BreatheTasteSavor, her monthly newsletter. Registration required.
