MOOC: Frankenstein
Hosted by: Liverpool Public Library Hours: Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Summary: This literature course will explore Mary Wollstonecraft Shelleys 1818 horror classic, "Frankenstein, or, The Modern Prometheus." This novel is remarkable for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that Shelley wrote the novel when she was only 18 years old. This MOOC will be facilitated by Miriam Readling, Advanced Placement Literature educator at Liverpool High School. Participants sign up for the MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) at Edx.org, work on the content at their own pace, and then meet at the library weekly to discuss the week's lesson. The course begins June 1 on Edx. To begin the course, simply go to Edx.org, click on courses, type Frankenstein in the search box and then click on the program. At this point participants can enroll in the class and create an account on Edx. Must be 16 years of age or older.
