CNY Reads has chosen "Born a Crime" by talk show host and comedian, Trevor Noah as the book they are promoting for all of CNY to read in 2019. At his birth. Trevor was born to a white Swiss father and a black Xhosa mother at a time when such a union was punishable by five years in prison. In keeping with the themes of the book, apartheid and racism, we will show "Mandela: The Long Walk Home", a chronicle of Nelson Mandela's life journey from his childhood in a rural village through to his inauguration as the first democratically elected president of South Africa.
