Liverpool Village Historian, Dorianne Gutierrez will take us on a journey to the past looking at who immigrated to Liverpool and why. Stories from days gone by and historical data will show what countries settlers arrived from and how various immigrant groups were vital to the settling and development of Liverpool. Discover who worked in the Salt industry, the Willow Basket industry or along the Erie Canal. Following Dorianne's presentation, Daryl Files of the Interfaith Works of CNY will discuss current immigration in Syracuse as well as the process of immigrating to the United States which can take several years to complete. She will talk about how Interfaith Works of CNY assists the large immigrant and refugee population.
