WCNY's Debbie Stack will lead a conversation asking questions such as "What does it mean to be an American?; What does an ideal America look like?; and How can citizens participate in creating the America they envision?". We will take a look at some of our founding documents and ask ourselves what the founders had in mind and how these ideas can be applied today. This program is modeled after "Living Room Conversations" (https://www.livingroomconversations.org/). Living Room Conversations are a conversational bridge across issues that divide and separate us. The goal is to increase understanding, reveal common ground, and sometimes even allow us to discuss possible solutions. All views are welcome and encouraged. Join the conversation on Liverpool Public Library's Facebook page. American Creed: Community Conversations is a project of Citizen Film in partnership with the American Library Association and the National Writing Project, with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Liverpool Public Library is one of 50 libraries nationwide selected as a grant recipient.
